Behind the project

About me

Hi, my name is Isabel,

and I am the founder of this initiative.

I have been working with clients in the UK for ten years and, since last year, also in Ireland (with UK credentials). My academic path began with law studies in Germany – but instead of pursuing a legal career, I set out on the path of becoming a counsellor, which eventually led me to complete a Master’s degree in Trauma Studies in Cork, Ireland.

Over the years, my therapeutic work has brought me into contact with people who have experienced coercive control, psychological violence, manipulation, and other forms of trauma – individuals who, after these experiences, are trying to understand and rebuild their lives.

My insights into the English legal system, where coercive control has been recognized and prosecuted as a criminal offense for ten years, have also shown me the significant gaps that still exist in Germany – and how vital it is for survivors to experience justice and recognition through official channels.

The situation in the UK is far from perfect – proving coercive control can still be difficult – but there are support centers, police contact points, and victim services that help ensure people’s fears and experiences are taken seriously.

With this project, I aim to create a first point of contact that offers support, education, and guidance to those affected – while helping people understand what they themselves or their loved ones have gone through. Our goal is also to advocate for legal reform through our petition, especially for people who have experienced coercive control within groups, sects, conspiracy movements, or cults.

I am a member of ICSA, the international network dedicated to research and competence in the field of cults and psychological manipulation.

Please note that our German network does not currently provide therapeutic services. These are handled exclusively by our British partner initiative, under UK regulations for the provision of therapeutic support.
